Care Guide for PP/PE Preserved Flowers & Potted Plants

Thank you for choosing our high-quality preserved flowers. Our blossoms and leaves are primarily made from eco-friendly and safe PP (Polypropylene) and PE (Polyethylene) materials, known for their realistic texture, excellent flexibility, and pleasant feel. Proper care will ensure their beauty remains vibrant for years to come. Please follow this guide:

Key Advantage: Durable Materials, Effortless Care

Unlike traditional silk or plastic flowers, PP and PE materials offer superior water resistance and flexibility, making cleaning simple and effective.

1. Routine Care (Recommended Weekly)

Preferred Method: Gentle Dusting

  • Tools: Soft-bristled brush, makeup brush, hairdryer (cool setting).
  • Method: Use a soft brush to gently sweep along the texture of the petals and leaves. For intricate structures, use a hairdryer on the cool air setting, keeping it at least 20 cm away to blow away dust.

Important Notes:

  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: While PP/PE have good fade resistance, prolonged direct sun exposure can still cause slight color fading. Place them in a cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight to maintain optimal color.
  • Keep Away from Heat: Keep away from heat sources like radiators and ovens to prevent the material from deforming.

2. Deep Cleaning (Recommended Quarterly or When Noticeably Soiled)

The water-resistant nature of PP/PE allows for "washing," which is their most significant maintenance benefit.

Steps for Water Cleaning:

  1. Prepare Solution: Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap. Mix gently.
  2. Gently Wipe: Dip a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush into the soapy water and gently wipe each petal and leaf to remove stubborn dirt.
  3. Quick Rinse: Wipe with a clean, damp cloth or quickly rinse off any soap residue under a gentle stream of water.
  4. Crucial Step - Thorough Drying:
    • Place the entire arrangement upside down or in a well-ventilated area to ensure all moisture evaporates completely from the flower centers, stems, and leaf joints.
    • Must dry thoroughly! This is essential to prevent rusting of internal metal stems or connectors.

For Stubborn Stains (e.g., grease):

  • Use a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of rubbing alcohol to gently dab the stain, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.

3. Shaping & Restoration

PP/PE materials are flexible and can be easily restored if accidentally crushed.

  • Manual Shaping: Gently adjust the openness and curvature of petals and leaves by hand to restore their natural shape.
  • Air Assist (Use with Caution): For severe deformation, use a hairdryer on the lowest cool air setting from a distance to slightly soften the material, then quickly reshape it. Let it cool to set. Avoid using high heat to prevent material shrinkage.

4. Long-Term Storage

When changing your décor, please store them as follows:

  1. Clean & Dry: Always clean first and ensure they are completely dry.
  2. Avoid Compression: Gently arrange the stems and wrap the flower heads in soft paper or bubble wrap.
  3. Store Upright: Place the prepared flowers in a sturdy cardboard box, preferably upright. Fill any empty spaces with crumpled paper to prevent movement and compression during storage.
  4. Label the Box: Mark the outside with "Preserved Flowers - Fragile - Do Not Crush" and store in a dry place.
